A Treatment Option for
Postmenopausal Vaginal Atrophy
Vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) affects up to 50%–60% of postmenopausal women who often don't seek treatment. Although more than half of menopausal women experience symptoms such as dryness, burning, itching, vaginal discomfort, pain and burning when urinating, dyspareunia, and spotting during intercourse, research indicates only 25% of patients with symptoms of VVA will receive adequate therapy. Women may be embarrassed to discuss these issues with their healthcare provider or feel it is a part of the aging for which nothing can be done. (1)
What if we could do something pre-emptively that would prevent or minimize many of the symptoms that accompany menopause and the development of VVA? What if we provided women with a product they could use before these issues developed?
